How Old is Our Universe?
Along with the discovery of the Big Bang is the question of when it happened. From observing cosmic microwave radiation (thermal radiation left over from the Big Bang) from outer space, scientists could tell the age of the universe. Scientists analyzed data collected regarding cosmic microwave radiations.
By comparing the sizes of hot and cold spots in the universe to when they were first released into space scientists were able to predict the age of the universe to be thirteen point eight billion years old. |
Universe: 13.8 Billion Years Old
To even further support this claim; scientists studied data collected of distant supernovas and other phenomena. The data analyzed showed similar results to when analyzing cosmic microwave radiation from space.
